Selecting Multiple Files Print E-mail
When working with files in Microsoft Windows, you can press the Shift key and hold it down select multiple adjacent files. You simply click on the first file of the group. Press and hold down the Shift key while you select the last file of the group. The first and last files and all of the files in between will be highlighted.

Similarly, you can hold down the CTRL and choose files that are not adjacent. Choose the first file, press and hold down the CTRL key and choose any other file. The files that you choose will be highlighted. If you click on any highlighted entry (while still holding down the CTRL key) it will be unhighlighted.

These two methods can be used to speed up file management. You can use them in My Computer and Widows Explorer. You can also use them in many other programs as well. If you want to delete all the email in a list, just click on the first one, press and hold the Shift key, choose the last email and press the Delete key.

One more technique is available....the lasso technique. You can select a group of adjacent files by clicking and dragging a box around the files that you want with your mouse. When you release your mouse button, all the files within the box will be highlighted. The lasso technique may require a little practice, but once you have it down, it's very useful. Press your mouse just above or below and to the left or right of the item you want to highlight. As you drag the mouse to the left or right or up or down you will see a highlighted box form. As you continue to drag the mouse over the files, each will be highlighted.

With these three techniques, you will be able to more and copy files quickly and easily.
