When looking for a misplaced file, the first thing to remember is to keep calm. In most cases, you can use the Windows search feature to find it. Just click on Start, then choose Search. Fill in part of the file name, then let Windows find it.

One thing to be aware of, the Windows search doesn't look in the Recycle Bin. So if you search and still don't find your file, double-click on the Recycle Bin to see if you might have inadvertently deleted it. Remember that all deleted files remain in the Recycle Bin until you empty it.
