RSI (Repetitive Stress Injuries)

RSI is a type of injury where soft tissue in the body, such as muscles, nerves, tendons, and joints become irritated or inflamed. If the injury goes untreated, permanent damage can occur. These injuries are known to be caused by repetitive motions. Musicians and others who perform the same physical motions over and over are often targets of RSI. When dealing with computers, the repeated motions and prolonged use of the keyboard and/or mouse can lead to RSI in the hands, wrists, elbows, and arms. Simple measures such as taking occasional breaks from computer work and ergonomically correct positioning of the keyboard and mouse can often prevent Repetitive Strain Injury.
