We have recently added an exciting new feature to the Compu-KISS website. At the bottom of each article, you will see a small icon with the words “ShareThis” next to it

This is an easy way to email it to friends and/or to“Vote” for the article on social networking websites. This is a way to let others know the type of article that you like and lets you voice your opinion all over the Web.

ShareThis Help

Clicking on the words ShareThis will open a drop-down box that looks similar to the one below. This box will allow you to send the story to friends, post it on websites, and share it through social networking websites. These are exciting new ways to share things on the Internet and I encourage all of you to try this. Don’t worry. I explain it all below!!

This box shows all of the social networking websites which you can use to tell others about the story you just read. Clicking on any one of them will take you to a page where you can sign up for the service or if you have previously signed up, where you can log in. Most of the websites will automatically fill in the title and address of the webpage. You simply fill out whatever other information they ask for, and click on the Submit button. The story is submitted automatically for everyone who visits that website to see.

The Register/Sign In at the bottom of this page is if you would like to join the Share This website. It is not necessary to do this. So you can ignore this link.

Which one do you choose?

If you have any account with any of these websites, you can start there. If not, start with Digg, one of the most popular social networking websites. Click here for more information about Digg.

E-mail to a Friend

Share This provides an easy way to send the article to a friend. Just click on the Send Email tab as indicated by the red arrow. Then put your friends email address in the To box. Add your email address and any message that you want in the other 2 boxes. Then click on the Share button in the lower right.

After you send your email you will see the box below. While you can choose to add Share This to your browser or your own website, or you can register at Share This, you don’t have to. Just click on the Done button to finish your email sharing.
