Adding Telephone Interviews to the Podcast
Posted by Sandy Berger on August 5th, 2007
Things were really shaping up. Now all we needed was a way to record telephone interviews. There were several hardware devices that could turn the conversation into recordable tracts, but most were about $500. Even the $300 ones were above my “do this for as little as possible” budget. So I turned to Skype. I’ve been using iSkype to converse with my daughter in Sweden and using Skype-out to call my mother in Kansas City. I could use Skype to call people who had computers and Skype accounts, and Skype-out to call others.
Now all I needed was a program to record the conversations. I found several were available, but most only recorded on one tract. I wanted to be able to edit the tracts separately in case one side of the conversation needed a volume boost. After an intense search, I found one called Pamela. I needed the Professional edition, which luckily was available on a 30 day trial.
