Having moved more than my share of computers and peripherals over the years I too have tried to label both ends of cables using tape and writing on the tape, etc.  Alas, the cord fairy loves to come in when you aren&#039;t looking and remove them.  I finally have tried (on the lighter colored cords) to use a permanent marker to write directly on the cord.  It&#039;s great EXCEPT for the black cords.  Even using a lighter permanent marker doesn&#039;t work get.  I may try a gold permanent marker, if I find one.</description>
