Having moved more than my share of computers and peripherals over the years I too have tried to label both ends of cables using tape and writing on the tape, etc. Alas, the cord fairy loves to come in when you aren’t looking and remove them. I finally have tried (on the lighter colored cords) to use a permanent marker to write directly on the cord. It’s great EXCEPT for the black cords. Even using a lighter permanent marker doesn’t work get. I may try a gold permanent marker, if I find one.
