Soft yet supportive, the visco-elastic foam pillow has my endorsement as the Perfect Pillow. The first time you touch it, you know that this pillow is different. It feels as though there is a gel in the material itself. This gel-like quality adjusts and molds to you head and neck contours providing a comfortable and supportive pillow. Visco-elastic foam takes the shape of impressed objects, but quickly returns to its original form even after a 90 percent compression. Visco-elastic foam was developed at NASA's Ames Research Center and is used in the seats of the Space Shuttle to improve seat cushioning, comfort and to provide crash protection. This foam is so technologically advanced that it has been inducted into the U.S. Space Foundation’s Space Technology Hall of Fame.

This foam first found its way into the medical industry where it was used for the treatment of bed sores and sleep disorders. Then, luckily for us, it became available to the general public.  Because visco-elastic is highly resistant to bacteria, mold, mildew, mites and odor-causing germs it is perfect for bedding.

I paid $69.95 for this pillow and as I write this I have already been using it for more than two years. I give it quite a workout each night and it has held up beautifully.  Now the price has been reduced, so if you are looking for a good night's sleep, give it a try.
