I especially like the chapters on Preventing Spam Gunk and Cleaning Up E-mail Gunk. Other chapters deal with improving security, backing up files, and optimizing your hard drive.
This book is not for the faint-of-heart. The chapter on cleaning and tweaking the registry will take you into the bowels of the Windows computer. Yet, if you don’t care to delve that deeply you will still get good information about tweaking and uninstalling programs, optimizing your hard drive, and organizing your files and folders. The chapter on PowerToys and shareware presents the best of the free and inexpensive software that can help you not only degunk your computer, but also keep it running smoothly. Throughout the book you will also find little tips and tricks for getting and staying organized as well as getting the most out of your computer. After all, you paid good money for that computer. Now take one step further and learn how to make it run smoothly.
