foods/hamburger.jpgLook at any grocery store shelf or a menu at a restaurant, and you will quickly realize that millions of Americans are watching their weight. Bright colors and large letters will point you to the low calorie and low-carb selections. Even though fast-food restaurants are also getting on the low-carb, low-calorie bandwagon, it can still be difficult to make good nutritional choices when you eat on the run. If you are counting calories, carbs, and/or fat, before you head out for a fast meal, make a quick trip to the Chowbaby Web site. Chowbaby lists over 50 of fast-food restaurants from Arby’s to White Castle. Click on the restaurant of your choice and you will be presented with a fairly comprehensive list of items offered by that chain.  Calorie counts and other nutritional information are listed for each item. This site is great for those watching sugar and salt content, as well.

Chowbaby also has articles about food, restaurant reviews, and links to food-related Web sites. Whether you use this site as a way to monitor your nutrition, or you simply skim it for information, you will find a multitude of interesting facts.  I found that my favorite Krispy Kreme doughnut has less fat and calories than a medium serving of McDonald’s french fries.  Does that mean I can have the doughnut if I skip the fries?
