Arkon Cordless Headphone System Print E-mail
entertainment/arkoncordless.jpgSound is a marvelous thing. We listen to music, hear the audio of a television program, and pick up a variety of sounds on the computer. For the most part, we enjoy it all, yet the intensity of the sound can vary for different individuals. Those who are slightly hard of hearing do not hear enough. Those who surround these people often hear too much as the hearing impaired person cranks up the volume. Then there are the kids who like everything loud while mom and dad prefer a little peace and quiet.

The solution is a simple one – a wireless stereo infrared headphone system. I recently looked at the Arkon SC 2600. First insert two AA batteries into the headphones and plug the receiver into the audio equipment with the included audio adapter that fits your equipment. When you plug the base station into the wall you will see red lights on the base station indicating that it is ready to go. Just turn on the headphones and slip them on then adjust the volume to suit your needs. The comfortable earphones will allow you to pump up the sound while others in the room will hear everything at a normal volume. The best part is that there are no cords to restrict your movement or your distance from the audio source.

Whether it’s the television, CD player, DVD Player, VCR, or the computer, these headphones will work. The only difference is that on some equipment when you hook up the headphones to the audio source, all of the sound will go through the headphones. This is usually the scenario on devices like a computer or a portable CD player that are best used alone anyway.

These headphones produced excellent sound quality with little interference. I tested them at home as well as at the office with good results. The only interference noted was from a wireless computer network.

The package comes with the stereo transmitter, AC power cord, audio cord, adapter plug, headphone receiver, and simple instructions.

Enjoy TV or music as loud as you like without disturbing others in the room.
