If you have ever struggled to open a thick plastic package
or to remove plastic strapping from a box or new product, you will love Open
It! This is a product that makes opening
those clamshell packages and blister packs easy.
Large difficult-to-open plastic packaging deters shop
lifters, but it makes honest shoppers pay a price in frustration and sometimes
even physical harm. Emergency room personnel will attest to the dangers wroth
by that innocent-looking plastic packaging. I don't know why it took so long
for someone to create the perfect package opener, but it is finally here and
it's called Open It!
When in the packaging, the Open It! looks like a pair of orange pruning sheers.
However, you will want to keep these in a handy place in the kitchen or main
part of the house rather than in the garden. The Open It! is super-handy. The
cutting blades make it easy to cut through tough plastic clam shells and
binding straps. There is also a
retractable razor blade and one of the handles holds a small fold-out dual-head
screwdriver, perfect for opening those battery compartments.
Open It! is great for people with arthritis and other
dexterity issues like carpel tunnel. Although it does require some hand
strength, it is much easier than struggling with a pair of scissors.
The Open It! is well-designed, but you obviously have to be
careful - it's sharp! There is a safety lock on the cutting blades and the
razor blade can only be used while holding down a lever, but you will still
want to keep this grown-up tool away from children.
When I use the Open It!, I like to think back to last
Christmas when both my husband and I were frustrated and infuriated while
trying to open the toys for our anxious grandchildren. That will never happen
again. Next holiday season, the Open It! will be ready to reduce frustrations
and help keep the cheer in the holidays. I know that we will have an Open It!
handy for the holidays because my husband has already declared that we will be
purchasing several more Open It!s to keep handy in the garage and the office.
After two weeks with the Open It! he stated it one of the best tools he's ever
used.
One more tribute to the thought that went into creating the product:
the package that holds the opener actually had an easy way to open
it...perforations to allow the opener to be pulled out.
