Problem Solving All-in-One Printers Print E-mail

allinoneprinter.jpgPrinters that are also scanners, copiers, and sometimes fax machines have become very common. They are called MFDs (multifunction devices) or All-in-Ones.  These devices are pretty complex.

Sometimes one component suddenly stops working.  If the printer works, but the scanner doesn't or there is some other combination of working and non-working components, you need to do some trouble-shooting.

Before you call tech support, you can try one possible solution yourself. One of the most likely causes of a problem like this is a device driver. This is a small piece of software that provides the communication between the computer and the device. Sometimes it becomes corrupted or inoperable for some unknown reason. Also installing a new piece of hardware or software might have damaged the device driver. Visit the website of the All-in-one manufacturer to download and install the latest drivers.
