If you have a laser printer you will find that the printer says that the toner cartridge is empty long before it actually is. The “empty” alert usually flashes on the screen when there is no more toner in the middle of the cartridge. However, there is usually toner still left at the ends of the cartridge. So simply remove the cartridge and move it back and forth to redistribute the toner. In most cases, you will be able to do this several times and to print hundreds of pages before you actually need to replace the toner cartridge.
