If you can't make it to the ballpark or can't find your team on television, you now can watch the game live online. Microsoft Corp. and MLB Advanced Media LP (MLBAM) have announced a new way for fans to follow their favorite teams.
MSN and MLB are giving fans a choice of several subscription packages that offer different ways to see the games. Subscribers to MSN® Premium - MSN's premier service for broadband users - can watch live broadcasts of more than 200 games per month, plus 20-minute condensed versions of games in which all the downtime is cut out at no additional charge. This content also will be available through MLB subscription packages on MSN. Approximately 250 games per month will be available live on the Internet through this agreement. The cost for the basic service will be $14.95 per month. The complete package with television and gameday audio will cost $19.95 per month. The service is subject to blackout restrictions, although what is unavailable and how they determine Internet blackout rules is unclear at this time.
In addition, exclusive video baseball highlights, bloopers, plays of the week and other news will be available free at MSN.com. This service is recommended for only for broadband Internet users. For more information, fans can go to http://www.baseball.msn.com/.
Microsoft and MLB also plan to enable consumers to watch MLB games on their Microsoft Windows Mobile™-based Portable Media Centers.
