Brightec® creator of the world's first night luminescent photographic paper, today announced that the National Football League (NFL) has chosen to print the theme picture on Super Bowl XXXVIII tickets using Brightec paper. The NFL purchased Brightec luminescent paper in order to generate excitement, enhance ticket-holder experience, and defend against counterfeiting. Super Bowl XXXVIII will take place on February 1, 2004, in Houston, Texas. This is the first commercial application of Brightec luminescent photographic paper.
Brightec's printer-friendly, luminescent paper produces high-quality pictures that appear normal under conventional light but come alive in lower light or darkness. Brightec paper dramatically outshines commonplace "glow-in-the-dark" products and luminesces overnight. Brightec paper will be available for general commercial and promotional use beginning shortly after the Super Bowl.
"The Brightec paper is something you really have to see to believe," said Jim Steeg, NFL Senior Vice President of Special Events. "We are always looking for additional ways to enhance the Super Bowl experience with entertaining, one-of-a-kind collectibles. Brightec is one of the most exciting new technologies we've been able to incorporate into the Super Bowl tickets. In addition, the paper will serve as a defense against counterfeit tickets."
"The fulfillment and delivery of our first order to the NFL is a huge milestone for us. We can't imagine a better venue for the Brightec kick-off," said Patrick Planche, CEO of Brightec. "The Super Bowl is the premier sporting event in the country, and this year's attendees will be the first to experience the unique brilliance of our photographic paper. The fulfillment of our first order is a great accomplishment for our team and a testament to the dedication of everyone involved."
