| Reopen Recently Closed Tab |
|
|
Once you start using tabbed browsing to keep several web pages open at the same time, you can never go back to only opening one page at a time. The convenience, however, come to a screeching halt when you accidently close a tab that you wanted to keep open. This is especially worrisome when it is a page that you spent hours searching for. You can go back into the browser history to try to find the web page, but in this tip, I give you an easier way. If you use Firefox, the solution to the accidently closed tab is easy. Click on History from the top menu then choose Recently Closed Tabs see a list of the most recently closed tabs Choose the one you want to reopen and you back in business. If you use Internet Explorer, the functionality to do this is not built-into the browser, but you can add it fairly easily. Click over to the IE Open Last Closed Tab. This is a free add-on that also allows you to reopen the last tab. Although the developer of this add-on puts a pre-checked box in front of "donate" during the installation of his product, it is free. You don't have to donate unless you want to. Once this add-on is installed, you simply press ALT+X to reopen the last closed tab. It is not as eloquent as the Firefox solution, but it works. If you are using Internet Explorer and you want to try Firefox for this and other features, just click here to download it. You can use it right alongside of Internet Explorer.
