Audio and video calling over the Internet is becoming more and more popular. Skype, Google Talk, MSN Messenger and others help you keep in touch with family and friends no matter where they are. However, calls are not always perfect. The most common problem is that sometimes there is an echo sound. In this tip I give you the reason that echoing happens and how to solve the problem.
Echoing, sometimes called feedback, happens when the microphone is too close to the speaker.
If you hear an echo in your own voice, the problem is actually on the other side. If the other person hears their voice echo, you're the problem. To put it another way - when a person hears an echo, it is caused by the transmission at the other end.
After you determine which side has the problem, the solution is simple. Either turn the speaker volume down or move the speakers farther away from the microphone. Sometime you have to do both of these before the problem is resolved. |
