Prevent Overheating Print E-mail

thermometer.jpgOverheating can severely damage your computer. All computers have vents to help the heat escape. You should be careful to keep the vents open by keeping papers and fabrics away from them.

Most laptops have vents on the sides or backs, so keep them far enough away from stacks of papers to let them breathe. Make sure that the vents are clear of fabric when you use your laptop on your lap, in bed, or on the sofa.

Most desktop computers have vents on the back. Keep walls and draperies at least 6" from the vents. If you enclose it in a cabinet, provide some method for air circulation.

A cool computer is a happy computer!!
