entertainment/bosecdradio.gifThe Bose Wave radio/CD uses patented technology to deliver full, rich sound from a compact unit. The Bose radio gets the Compu-KISS seal of approval for ease of use, as well as performance. Plug it in, pick up the credit card size remote and you are ready to listen to great room-filling sound.

A long folded waveguide chamber shown below is the technology that allows the radio to reproduce rich sounds. This Bose also uses proprietary circuitry to keep the tonal balance when the volume is lowered. Because of the way the human ear perceives sound, the tonal balance seems to change when the volume is changed. This radio automatically compensates for how the human ear perceives sound and automatically adjusts tonal balance.

These two small but significant technologies give the Bose radio great audio reproduction capabilities.  The addition of the CD player enhances the radio even more. The top of the radio opens to reveal the easily accessible CD tray. The auto play function starts playing the music as soon as you load the CD and close the door. The system is also equipped with inputs for an additional sound source. So you can hook up a TV, VCR or cassette tape player to the Bose radio and enjoy enhanced sound.

This Bose has two independent alarms that can be very useful. You can schedule two different wake up calls and two different radio stations to wake up to. When I had to take medication twice a day, I programmed the alarms to be my reminders. The automatic ramping on the alarms is wonderful. If you don’t hear the alarm at first it gets gradually louder and louder until it gets your full attention.

At $499 the Wave Radio/CD isn’t cheap, but it produces great sound from a small package. Whether you choose the black or white, it is well-designed and will look good in any room. The Wave Radio/CD was one of the best presents I’ve ever received. Make someone happy with this product, or just make yourself happy.
