No dummy involved... you did a great job of posting your message, but as you see it was a "response" or "reply to topic" that Sandy had posted..... when you read a message/topic posting, go to the bottom of that page and click the word "Go" which takes you back to this forum.... on the right side of the listed topics at the top of those listed you will see the button marked "New Topic"... just click on that and a new message box opens for you to create your new posting.... just fill in a title on the Subject line and then type your question, observation, or whatever your message will be in the editing box that opens.... when done, just underneath that message box are 3 buttons marked "Post",,, "Preview" ,,,, "Spell Check"..... you can click Spell Check if you desire and check/correct your typed spelling in your message.... The Preview button lets you see how your message will appear on the forum and you can then click the Post button to send the message to the forum..... Or, after you have typed your message and are satisfied with the message and spelling after you proofread it, just click the "Post" button and your message will be here on the forum.....
You pretty much did all of that in just clicking "Reply" and posting your above message, just a matter of clicking the "New Topic" button instead and creating your own brand new message/question just as you had done when replying. If you happen to visit different forums and message boards, each seems just slightly different in how it operates compared to the others.... it is just a matter of becoming comfortable with the set up.... and by doing your reply message to Sandy's post, you pretty much mastered everything needed.....
