Read Sandy's post about the decisions that you must make when buying a TV. The same is true of many other things as well. The other day I went to the drug store to buy some shampoo. There were rows and rows of bottles to choose from....a far cry from when we had Prell and one or two others.
The new shampoos have many good things. Some add shine. Some clean better...etc. I am sure that the technology in many of these is very good, but it is very difficult to decide which to buy.
Were we better off with fewer choices or is it good to have so many technologically advanced products to choose from?

In my opinion the more choices the better! Remember when computers first came out? You basically had to choose between the Commodore 64 or the Apple II.  Both pretty expensive at the time.  No days the more tv's they have available the cheaper!  Just take a stroll into the neighborhood WalMart. You can get a great tv for next-to-nothing! It all boils down to price, and what you want to do with your tv. (what you want to do with my tv?) -> I have my tv setup with the regular stuff, dvd, vcr, directv, AND pc. YES, it means I can use a wireless keyboard / mouse, sit across the room and google away / and even use yahoo messenger to see my friends / family from around the world!  The main thing about tv's isn't if they are dlp or lcd, it's the inputs on the tv that are available for future neat stuff to come and of course the price.

It's true, sometimes technology brings too many choices, but sometimes it great to have so many choices. One example is the Tangent Quattro WiFi Internet radio that the C. Crane just sent me. There are over 10,000 radio stations to choose from.....amazing! You can play  stations from Afganistan to Zimbabwe and everything in between. Jazz from France, Polka's and folk music from Germany, island music from Polonesia. There are an amazing number of choices.

No doubt, I'll settle down to five or six that will become my favorites, but I sure will have fun scanning through the thousands of choices to find what I really like.

That new radio sounds good. I'll have to look into it. But sometimes I get very upset by the number of choices. I went out to buy a new digital camera and came back without one because there were so many to choose and so many different things they could do. Now there are too many choices. If you want to make a good decision you have to do a lot of research before you buy anything. It's a pain.
