MAC vs PC

If anyone has a PC would you consider switching to a Apple Mac? Or upgrade to another PC?
I currently own a Dell Dimension 8250 XP (desktop) for 7 years with minor hardware breakdowns and problems. Some of my friends that had PC's are now switching over to Mac computers. And for those who did do not regret not owning a PC.
So, my question is - Is it worth investing in a Mac computer after so many years being use to using a PC and is it complicated to learn it and transfer files over to Mac programs? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
