Mine is an Acer Extensa 5620Z.  Recently began to use Touch Pad.  Prior to this Mouse was used.  In scrolling up or down when the ''down arrow'' is pressed the page immediately goes down to the bottom.  When the ''up'' arrow is pressed the page goes to the top in one shot.  How to get it to move at a slow steady pace to aid my reading eyes.
 ?

When I tap on the Touch Pad it maximises or minimises the page.  Why is this ?

I am new to computer though am old in age.

Any advice on Touch Pad or on any other item or hints would be most welcome.

Thank you, ben

Look in the settings for the touch pad or mouse in your Control Panel... there you can set the cursor movement speed and likely have some settings you can use for that pad....

Normally, just sliding your finger up and down along the pad may cause the cursor to move up or down. On many touch pads if you do the sliding fingertip action along the right edge of the touch pad you get that rapid movement of the cursor; takes a little getting used to making yourself use the center or the left half of the touch pad for your finger action so the cursor moves more like it did with a mouse - touch pads seem to have different sensitivities on different computers and do take some getting used to.... My Fujitsu Laptop and my HP Netbook touchpads are quite different from each other so I had to train my brain to be attentive to which machine I am using at that moment....

The Help section on your Acer likely has some additional info on the touch pad and setting sensitivities on it........
