It is a real good idea to have more than just one browser on the computer because if one is having problems, you can normally use the other browser to connect to the Internet and get help here or other sites....... The biggest problem that I see folks on many different forums are having with POGO is not having the most current Java installed on their computer (currently Java 6 SE Update 13....... The other minor problem is when they are using Firefox and the add-on feature called 'No Script' to block active X and Java they forget to give the POGO web site permisson to use java and flash, all resolved as a 'non-issue' once they grant permission to the page in 'No Script'.... I use the Firefox add-ons of 'No Script' and 'Ad Block' among others to minimize interference and trash on the web pages I visit and make my web experiences much safer and more enjoyable. Might add, as far as remembering browser names, think '
burning fox' -
Firefox - rather than '
fox that is burning' - Foxfire ....

.... just so the Firefox browser name is what we will know that you are talking about, rather than an entirely different thing called foxfire........ an easy and common twist of the name that many non-users tend to make..

You can have both browsers open at the same time on the computer, should you want to do so..... I periodically do so just to give me a chance to see how a web site might work in either browser for comparison ..... But, generally, most 'normal' people use one or the other at a time....... Yup, I admit to being abnormal at times....

What you see displayed at the very top left corner of the screen desktop page will depend on which browser you have open and are using at the time to view the POGO or any website.... and in the case of Internet Explorer it will depend on which version of the browser you are using... be it IE6, IE7, IE7 Pro, or IE8 .... As you see on my screen shot I am on the Computer Help web site (here) and using Mozilla Firefox browser... I would have a different display if I were using the IE8 browser....
On another forum I frequent, most use the Mozilla Firefox or Opera browsers while visiting POGO or just using the Internet. Quite a bit of concern for the lacking of security from M$ browser, although the later versions of the M$ Internet Explorer browser are more safety feature laden than earlier versions.. I use IE8 on this desktop and use IE7 Pro on my laptop - but again, very infrequently, preferring to use Firefox 3.0.9 because of safety, less resources being hogged, and quickness of the browser. Really, just a matter of comfort for users as to which browser they mostly use.
Again, the principal reason one should have at least 2 browsers on their computer is just for "backup security and connectivity" issues for getting on the Internet....... I know of a couple of folks that have as many as 9 different browsers on their machines just to give themselves a change of pace now and then.....
