This free program will capture a picture of anything on your computer screen to save, to print, or to send to friends. It can just be take a quick snap shot or it can do much, much more. You can quickly draw arrows and circle or annotate items. It will capture videos, as well. In fact, you can do so much with this program that I am amazed that it is free.
Jing is a program created by TechSmith, who is an expert in taking screen shots. I have used their excellent SnagIt program for years. In fact, I used it to create the screen shots for all eight of my books. Jing now does much of what SnagIt does.
You install Jing and it sits like a little yellow halo at the top of the screen (you can turn off this feature, if you like). When you want to take a screen shot, you simply click on the halo, choose what you want, and capture it. You can save these on your computer, email to friends, or even store on TechSmith's server for free.
Jing is so comprehensive, that with a little investigation, you will be amazed with what it can do. Check out the help file to learn more.
You will need the .NET 3.0 Framework to run Jing. This is a free file from Microsoft. If you are prompted to install it, don't hesitate to download and install it.
