StickyPad -- Free Post-It-Style Notes Print E-mail
Written by Sandy Berger
stickypad.jpgI am addicted Post-It notes. There is nothing like being able to jot down a quick note and stick it up where you will see it. Yet even Post-Its have their faults. Sometimes they fall off. Sometimes they get stuck to a piece of paper and lost. These problems are completely solved by using sticky notes on your computer screen. It's a great solution and it's free.

No matter which version of Windows you are using, you can have Sticky Notes on your computer screen. If you are using Windows 7, a Sticky Note program comes with the operating system. Justclick on the Start button and type the word "Sticky" into the search box. The Sticky Note program will appear. Click on it and a sticky note will appear on your desktop. Click inside the note and start typing your message. Click the plus sign to add another note. Right click to change the color. You can resize the note just as you can any window.

If you are using Windows Vista or Windows XP, check out StickyPad, a free program from a company called Green Eclipse that brings sticky Post-It-type notes to your computer screen. The notes appear on your computer desktop as a constant reminder of chores, birthdays, and other things you have to remember.

The StickyPad program has more functionality than the Sticky Note program that comes with Windows 7 and you can also use it with Windows 7.

The StickyPad electronic sticky notes are very customizable. You can control the looks of the note by choosing different colors. You can adjust the size of the text. You can drag the sides of the note to make it longer and/or wider. You can even make the note translucent.

You can also set up the notes as reminders. You can then leave the reminder note on the desktop or hide it. In either case when the time you set comes, the note will reappear along with an audio alert. StickyPad is quite competent. You will want to look through the options to see all its functionality. You can email notes to others, save notes, and print them to name just a few of the features.

The StickyPad icon sits next to the clock in the lower-right hand side of the screen. To create a note, you simply double-click on the yellow sticky note icon. Click once on yellow sticky note to see all the options including a question mark icon that will take you to a set of complete help instructions.
