 Opera is a web browser that has been around for a long time. Each new version gets better and better. As I write this the current version is opera 9.6. I consider Opera a bit more off the beaten path than Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Chrome. As such, you will probably either love it or hate it. I don't recommend Opera for a stark newbie because it has a zillion of features that come preinstalled. However, that makes it a great browser for anyone who is at least somewhat experienced at browsing. Opera is perfect if you use more than one computer because it lets you automatically sync your bookmarks, searches, history, and other data. One of my favorite features in Opera is its built-in speed dial that let quickly and easily access your favorite websites. And Opera has a Quick Find option that not only remembers the titles and addresses of the pages you have visited, but also remembers the content. It also has a trash can that instantly reopens recently closed tabs. I have also long recommended Opera as a web browser that lets you easily magnify portions of the web pages. And it is a browser that is fully customizable. So if you like to tweak things to your liking, Opera may be the browser for you.
