To keep your computer running smoothly, you sometimes need to do some cleanup and preventative maintenance. That's where Glary Utilities comes in. It is a free tool that will help keep your computer in tip-top shape. As you can see in the screen shot below, Glary will clean the registry, fix broken shortcuts, and locate dangerous start-up programs. It can also remove temporary files and spyware and erase your tracks.

You can use Glary for any and/or all of these functions by simply adding or removing the checkmark in front of the task. (See the screen shot below.) I like Glary, not only because it is free, but because they don't try to trick you into purchasing an upgrade version. I also like the fact that it makes a backup so that if something goes wrong, you can restore your computer to where it was before you used the program.

The only thing not to like is that after you accept the license agreement, you are asked again to click past a page that says, "I accept the license agreement & want to install the free Ask toolbar". You might think that you must accept this, but you don't. Simply remove the checkmark and click on Next to go on without installing the Ask toolbar.
