Foxit Reader Can Replace Adobe Reader Print E-mail
Written by Sandy Berger

The free Foxit program lets you read PDF files just like Adobe Reader. Only it is smaller, faster, and cleaner. I've seen many instances where Adobe just won't work. Foxit is a perfect substitute for those circumstances.

Foxit also allows you to make comments on PDF files, which can come in handy for notations that you can keep right with the document. It also includes a text converter which allows you to convert the whole PDF document into a simple text file.

I am not happy to see the ads on the Foxit website, because they are a little tricky. They try to entice you with visually attractive ads for free products, but you always wind up paying for something. So, just go right to the download page and ignore any ads that you see. If you do wind up on the front page, ignore the black "Offerpal Media - Get it for Free" button, and the download button for the Foxit PDF Editor, which is a program you must pay for. Instead, look for the free Foxit Reader program.

Foxit Reader supports Windows Me/2000/XP/2003/Vista. Its core function is compatible with PDF Standard 1.7. If you want to create PDF files, Foxit also has some PDF creation software available. This is software that you must pay for, but the prices are lowerr than Adobe's PDF creator programs.
