If you like certain designers, but you just can't afford to purchase their clothing or accessories, you can still get their look and feel with artist themes for your computer. While I would probably never want to pay the price for a Dolce & Gabbana item, I now have their leopard skin designer look right on my computer.
Google has recently added Artist themes for their iGoogle home page. iGoogle is a page that you can customize to use for your home page or to use, as I do, as a place to visit daily. The iGoogle page is fully customizable. You can add anything you like. For more information on creating a iGoogle Custom Page, read my article.
Once you have an iGoogle page, you can use the new Artist themes to customize your page. Just surf over to the Art Gallery and choose your favorite designer. Just be aware that the samples that they show may not be the colors or the actual theme of your pages. So you may have to try a few before you find the one you like the most. However, these themes are easy to try and to change. Just click on "Add it Now" and you will be taken to your iGoogle page with the theme applied. Each theme changes the header as well as the colors on the page. If you don't like your current choice, just click on "Undo" on the header of your iGoogle page and return to the Art Gallery to choose another.
The choices are pretty fantastic. You can choose Michael Kors, Tommy Hilfiger, Anne Geddes, Rock & Republic, Oscar de la Renta, and more. They even have themes by celebrities that are not necessarily designers like Lance Armstrong, Natalie Cole, and others.
Right now I am thoroughly enjoying my leopard skin design by Dolce & Gabbana.
