Ebook readers are becoming extremely popular. I myself own a Kindle and I love it! But I hate spending a lot of money on ebooks. So I head over to Project Gutenberg where I can choose from over 36,000 free books in formats for all ebook readers. If you own an ebook reader, you'll want to check this out.

Project Gutenberg Literary Archive Foundation (PGLAF) is a not-for-profit entity that is dedicated to preserving literary works and making them available at no cost to the general public. It is focused on developing ebooks and it currently offers over 36,000 free ebooks that you can download to your PC, Kindle, iPad, iPhone, Android, or other portable device. Choose between ePub, Kindle, HTML and simple text formats.

Don't worry if you don't understand these various formats, just head over to Guttenberg's Mobile Device Reader How To page, which gives you detailed instructions for downloading the proper format for your ereader.

You won't find current bestsellers here, but you can find plenty of interesting books, including those old classics that you've always meant to read. All the titles are free and they are all legal. Guttenberg even has audio books and books in several different languages.
