The ShareThis icon that you see at the bottom of each article on the Compu-KISS website provides an easy way to share the article with others and to give it your approval for many different social bookmarking websites.

This is an easy way to email it to friends and/or to "Vote" for the article on social networking websites. This is a way to let others know the type of article that you like and lets you voice your opinion all over the Web.

Clicking on the words ShareThis will open a drop-down box allow you to send the story to friends, post it on websites, and share it through social networking websites. These are exciting new ways to share things on the Internet and I encourage all of you to try this.

When you click on the ShareThis icon you will see a screen like the one below:

The items listed are del.icio.us, Digg, Newsvine, StumbleUpon, Windows Live, and Yahoo Bookmarks. All of these are social websites. If you haven't tried one yet, you probably should, as they are the hottest thing on the Internet right now. These websites each work slightly differently, but the idea is that each allows you to easily show others which websites and articles you like. The Share This icon makes it easy. Click on any Social Web name and take you to the signup page for that site where you will fill in your name, email address, and other information to get a username and password and to login. After you have done this, clicking on the Share This icon should take you directly to the page where you can list the article as one you want to save and share.

If you are already registered at any of these websites, feel free to use this as a way to share the Compu-KISS articles. Click on the word More at the bottom of the Share This window, and you will see a long list of other social websites. Feel free to click on any of these to investigate them.

The second tab on the Share This window is the Send/Email tab, just click on this tab to send a link to the article to any one you like.
