Lee Ann Wong, director of Games and Marketing worldwide for Mattel, said that Mattel re-released several games from the past. The brand new retro games included Battling Tops and an Electronic Pin the Tail on the Donkey. With Electronic Pin the Tail on the Donkey they put a new spin on a classic favorite birthday game. The donkey has a little bit of attitude and a little bit of sass and he is electronic so you are trying to pin the tail on the donkey’s constantly moving rear-end.
Mattel found that today’s kids love these retro games. Parents who remember the game are happy to bring that memory home for their kids so they can create new memories together. Other retro specials this holiday season include Uno, Magic 8 ball, and the good old slinky.
This year you may find yourself playing with some of the toys from your childhood. Hurray for the old! Retro toys are making a come back.
