Over the past several months we have been working hard to improve the quality of our Compu-KISS website. I’m sure you’ve noticed our new design format and our integration of several new features including the podcast, the Computer Help message boards and Sandy’s blog.
I am happy to announce another new feature on Compu-KISS. When you read articles you will now see several orange words in each article. These represent a new information/ad format we're experimenting with, courtesy of Kontera Technologies. We have researched this thoroughly and find that this offers an added benefit for our visitors.
If you hover your mouse over the underlined words it will give you information on products or services related to that word. If you click the word, you will be taken you to respectable websites where you can find more useful content. We are working with companies like Sun, AMD, and others. If you are not interested, of course, you can simply ignore the orange words and still get the full benefit of the Compu-KISS website.
However, when you do click on these words, it provides income to our website which is essential for us to continue to deliver quality content at no cost to our visitors. We also investigated a "pay for content" scenario which websites like Kim Komando, Wall Street Journal and many others are going to, but we decided that we prefer to keep the content at Compu-KISS free so it can benefit everyone.
So please continue to visit Compu-KISS and be kind enough to click on the orange words when you see them.... that's what keeps the website going and keeps it free.
