You already know you are likely to live longer than your parents. You will probably also be healthier and better able to enjoy your later years. Yet, living longer means making decisions about what to do with that retirement chunk of life, as well as how to do it.
Our current generation of retirees and potential retirees are thrusting themselves happily into that chore. As millions of Americans start to think about and plan for their retirement, it becomes obvious we have completely reinvented the concept of retirement. It’s not your father’s retirement anymore! Retirement, by definition, means to withdraw and retreat. Today’s retirees and potential retirees, however, are facing retirement by attacking. They are planning to fill their retirement years with activity. Today retirees are doing more planning than just looking at their financial assessments. Individuals, facing potentially more than twenty years of retirement, are putting a good deal of time into deciding just how they want to spend their retirement. They are using their retirement years to restructure priorities and fulfill lifelong dreams. If you in the process of planning your retirement, there are plenty of Internet resources to get your thinking going in the right direction. An excellent site calledToo Young to Retire was developed by Howard and Marika Stone. The Life Answers Discussion Board will allow you to find out how others are handling their situations and will let you post all of your own questions to help you resolve any life issues you may have. So whether you are already retired, or just starting to plan for retirement, why not let the Internet help you. A simple search for retirement resources will bring up a wealth of information. Go for it. The best is yet to come!
