Type 2 Diabetes is becoming increasingly more common, with more than 20 million Americans living with the disease. Virginia Valentine, a certified diabetes educator, has helped people manage their diabetes for more than 20 years. She says, “Type 2 Diabetes is the type you typically see adults getting. It's related to having the family history, the genetic component, in addition to a lifestyle such as maybe gaining a few pounds or not exercising as much.”
