Our environment has supported us for millions of years, let’s be sure to keep it friendly and green by recycling cell phone and all the batteries that our high-tech equipment uses.
Richard Karn, best known as Al on "Home Improvement" and host of the "Family Feud," has knows how important this is. He has teamed up with the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation, or RBRC, for the Call2Recycle program. He says, “We are trying to get people to just know that all of their cell phones can either be recycled or they can be refurbished. Laptops, digital cameras - all of those have rechargeable batteries in them. And when the batteries don't take a charge anymore, instead of throwing them out, they can be recycled and not put into our landfills.”
Richard ads, “All the companies that make these batteries - Sanyo, Sony, Panasonic, Black and Decker - they are all chipping in to make this a free recycling process. You can recycle them at Circuit City, Radio Shack, Target, Home Depot. We made it so simple for people. They can go anywhere and recycle these things as they're picking up their new battery.”
